When my father passed away, I did not realize at that time anything about funeral services and costs. Fortunately, he had purchased a burial plot several decades ago. He had also previously chosen to be cremated as the least cost alternative. But I was appalled when a small hole was dug and his ashes buried on the small cemetery plot. It was too simplistic and not very imaginative. It was cold, barren and empty. It left me confused and a bit bitter. Now that I have had time to overcome the impact of the moment and to think about a more suitable and dignified alternative I have founded Final Destination, L.L.P.

Burial costs have become astronomical and burdensome. To pay for a burial plot plus maintaining it has become unaffordable for many, especially in these economically challenging times. Although burial arrangements are not something we normally seek out, they are inevitable and often without forethought or planning. Also, what if you are left all alone without friends, family, or caretakers to complete your life mission and place your ashes as you desire? We recognize this service is not for everyone, but maybe it is for you. We will tailor and customize our service to your directions.
Final Destination, LLP will provide a final resting place for those who are deceased and already cremated and who have a predetermined location to scatter ashes either designated by you either by last testament or by surviving family members’ wishes. We recognize there are people who live alone and without family or without anyone to perform their last wishes. We do not perform the cremation, but we follow your wishes and take your ashes to the location you have designated or chosen to have your ashes scattered as a final destination. We become the surrogate family in many situations to close out the last chapter of life. (Leo Tolstoy’s final destination was a railway station where his granddaughter took him in the middle of a bitter Russian winter).
Some people want their ashes to be taken back to the country they were born because it is their roots and they had been uprooted for one reason or another. We can do that too (repatriation).
We do this because our observation has been that the dispensation of created ashes is usually not very personal or individualized. It is usually just a hole covered with sod. We think there is a better way and there is.
The primary purpose of Final Destination and www.myfinaldestination.net is to provide alternatives to burial and conventional cemeteries. We your ashes to where you want them placed or scattered. We do this with honor, dignity and ceremony much like the sound of “Taps” at a military funeral. There is finality and closure.
There are no geographic limits to where we can place or scatter your ashes. The ceremony may include one’s favorite music or reading in the brief ceremony. At the completion of the ceremony, a photo will be taken of the final destination location. A flower placed at the location. The location will be recorded by Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) and will be archived for future reference but will remain confidential if you chose. It is also a means for us to reunite couples and family members as they chose. |
